The most competitive!

Manuele Boaro received another prize while racing in Australia, as the most competitive on stage 3 of the Tour Down Under (Lobethal-Uraidla 146.2 km). The newest Astana rider showed his sky-blue sky jersey at its best again, entering the day’s breakaway and taking some mountain points.

He did a good race, attacking on a tricky stage that features a hilly course around Adelaide with high humidity and extreme heat. His action has been awarded with the “most competitive” title of the day and Manuele had got a deserved round of applause at the podium ceremony in Uraidla, where the stage winner was Sagan, just like last year. He defeated Luis Leon Sanchez, who was so close to the win.

It was a great day for us” Manuele says “we didn’t take the win, but the second place of our captain today is something that makes us proud. It adds value to a stage where we rode very well once again. I’m really happy for having honoured Astana’s jersey and for having fulfilled the tasks assigned to me. Being named as the most aggressive rider of the day makes me feel even more happy”.
