Manuele Boaro moved to Australia, where he is training with his new teammates of Astana Pro Team ahead of the first race of the season: the Tour Down Under.
The 21st edition of the Australian stage race, that opens the WorldTour calendar, will be held from January 15th to 20th and it will begin with the traditional criterium Down Under Classic on Sunday, January 13th.
“I know the Tour Down Under very well, because I have already taken part in four editions of this race” Manuele explains “But this time will be something special, because it will be first official race with the jersey of the Astana. A new beginning, but I’m ready for this new challenge and I’m really excited to start the season with my new team”.
Besides Boaro, the roster of the Kazakh squad will included the other Italian Davide Ballerini, Yevgeniy Gidich, Laurens De Vreese, Daniil Fominykh, Artyom Zakharov and will name as captain Luis Leon Sanchez.
“Our captain has already took the overall win here and he feels vey well” Manuele adds “Therefore we will see if we succeed in helping him to repeat his success. Speaking about me, it will be important to see how is my condition, after the periodo of traing during the winter”.
Official debut on next Sunday at the Down Under Classic in and around Adelaide, where the Astana pro Team will take part with the same roster, just without Artyom Zakharov. Sports Director Lars Michaelsen.
